Models

MODELS

I am always looking for new models to help build my photographic portfolio. I am only interested in Time For Prints (TFP and Time For CD – TFCD) work, though on occasions I may hire models or be hired by models. If you’d like to model for me, you can most likely do so at no cost to you. In fact you will walk away with some prints and a CD of our collaborative efforts.

I am always willing to provide references from models I’ve worked with.

I generally insist on a pre-shoot meetings to discuss what we are both looking for. I encourage models to bring a friend or companion to the shoot, especially one who will help them feel at ease, comfortable and attractive.

A few things to bear in mind:You will be asked to sign a model release. This document protects both of us by limiting the scope of the shoot and setting down copyright information. As the photographer, I retain the rights to all photographs I take, but I am always willing to discuss distribution with the model. We will discuss the particulars of the release prior to the shooting.

I believe that photography is a collaborative exercise, and as such I appreciate it when model bring their own ideas of how he or she will emote during the shoot, as well as with the appropriate accoutrements. I also suggest that models bring along a favourite CD to play during the shoot, especially if it helps them to feel more relaxed and comfortable.

My Time For Prints policy pertains to models who are looking for a shoot that interests me, or who are willing to try a new shoot idea that I have. If I haven’t worked with you before, just the newness of the model is often enough to stimulate my interest and enthusiasm. I charge a sitting fee for utility shoots (like headshots), and for shoots in which the model has a specific vision or requirement that is not my own. You can find a summary of my fees and charges on this website. However, I am always open to negotiating, so if you are in doubt please contact me so that we can discuss things further.

Well, it looks like I am off to Brisbane next weekend (not this one) to photograph a new model. Hope it all pans out, as it is all sounding quite exciting and excellent at present. The idea we are discussing should look awesome. So, fingers crossed......

A couple of weeks ago I took a long drive to Queensland for the weekend.  While there I worked with two models that I have not worked with before.  I had a great time and got lots of great shots.  I am working through them now and should have some to upload in a week or so.

I think I broke my side notes....  Yes, I did, but I found a workaround so they are fixed again.
